Passion for Teaching
Teaching is about inspiring others to discover their purpose and potential. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to impact the lives of students by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Teaching provides me with a sense of self-gratification, especially when I use teaching techniques to help students become better future citizens.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a graduate student in the College of Education at Wayne State University was the ability to work as a teaching intern at Mark Murray Elementary. I worked with a talented team of diverse teachers and assisted in the design and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. I also worked collaboratively to maintain a positive relationship with parents, students, co-teachers, and administration. Through this, I have formed a strong dedication to the progress of children with a high degree of passion.
I am a mother to four precious children. I like swimming, playing badminton, traveling, and sewing. I enjoy ending my day reading a book to my nine-year-old before bedtime. My favorite children’s book is Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. I can still remember how my son and I agonized for Wilbur, the protagonist. Another book that touched my heart is Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper. I liked how the author engaged the reader by writing from the point of view of an 11-year old girl, Melody, who has cerebral palsy.
I wouldn't describe myself as a perfectionist, but rather I strive for betterment. I base my philosophy of life on one of Ralph Waldo Emerson's beautiful quotes: “Life is a journey, not a destination.”

I have also taught for four years in Pakistan as a full-time elementary educator, with a focus on mathematics and science. The interaction with the students was my favorite part about teaching. They had wonderful ideas, and every time I learned something new from them. I enjoyed helping them to discover more about natural science, themselves, and their interests.

Teaching Philosophy
Teaching requires openness to change. Therefore, I continually examine my teaching techniques and ideas in order to become a more effective teacher. Students should have the opportunity to learn to resolve conflicts and all other varieties of behavioral skills by experience. As a teacher, it is imperative for me to recognize talent and encourage students to learn using their strengths while working on their weaknesses. It is every student’s civil right to be included in the learning community. I believe in a school system based on equality, where every child has a voice and is considered a constructive member of the school community. As an educator, I understand that it is my obligation to reach out to all students. I strongly believe that every child has potential and can progress if given the opportunity to learn and understand concepts in their own unique way.
