"Every teacher needs to improve, not because they are not good enough, but because they can be even better."

                            Dylan Wiliam

Effective urban educators are Reflective Practitioners who can accurately assess themselves and develop plans for improvement.

The weekly reflection on clinical experience during the summer provided me with insight on my learning process as an educator.

The self-study teaching evaluation and reflection was one of the requirements during pre-student teaching. I evaluated myself based on the teacher evaluation tool, the Danielson Framework for Teaching. The process helped me understand the importance of reflecting back on my teaching techniques and encouraged me to find ways for improvement.

I am a reflective practitioner because I believe that reflection helps to create a sense of understanding of my actions. When I reflect back on my teaching, I become more self-aware of my strengths and weaknesses. I reflect on my interactions with the students, focusing on their reactions to my different methods of teaching. I use the reflections to improve my teaching style by developing previous techniques based on the response received from students. I can make informed decisions based on the feedback given to me and modify the lesson for future classes.

Reflecting back on the lesson I taught and receiving constructive feedback from my instructional coach during one of the coaching conversation.
